As I was going through old pictures this morning – looking for any interesting ones for this newsletter, it has occurred to me how many seasons have come and gone since we opened the doors of Eagles Rock Retreat… it has been six years would you believe!?
Our first winter here is one I will never forget.
It was January 2017, we were only settling in, having moved up from the Carlingford in November.
I was seven months pregnant with Ferdia.
Then the snow came and we got snowed in for a week – the perks of living in the mountains.
Oisín was very excited, making snowmen and digging caves and I remember that the unplanned rest was a tonic for me. It took a very snowed-in driveway for me to finally allow myself to slow down and rest.
Resting is what we should all do this time of year, when we learn to go with
the cycles of Nature.
