Hello friends,
It has been all action here at Eagles Rock Retreat in the last few months.
Between hosting private groups, our own retreats and guest teacher retreats, we have been busy and we are truly grateful for all of you who have come to visit or planning to come in the near future.
I should mention that thanks to your wonderful feedback on TripAdvisor,
we have been awarded
The Tripadviser’s Choice Award for 2023 – third year in a row!!
This has really brought smiles to our faces.

As the harvest time of year is here,
let’s talk about food and diet a little.
Many of you know that it has been my passion of late as I have been experimenting with foods to reduce inflammation in my own body.
I used to think that one can maintain healthy body and mind by yoga alone and that what we eat is important but kind of secondary for a devoted yoga practitioner.
Since my diagnosis of uveitis, I have changed my mind.
It is now over a year since my 60 day juice fast and I have been naturally transitioning towards raw vegan diet. From my own experience and after many hours of research I believe that eating whole plant based and uncooked food is our most natural diet and it is also best for the environment.
I believe that we can regenerate our cells and heal most diseases by eating this way.
(Please don’t take my word for it but do your own research. I am only sharing my own experience and opinions).
I will put some links to resources at the end of this newsletter for those who would like to learn more.
I must say that it has been a process of transition with a few setbacks as years of conditioning, certain food and flavour addictions take time to overcome.
Confession: if I am hungry and you put French fries in front of me I will probably still eat it!
But for the most part, I have been on a raw vegan diet of mostly fruits and vegetables for a year now and it is getting easier, especially in summer, when there is abundance of fruits and veg. I still crave savoury things so having seaweed, olives or sun-dried tomatoes to hand has been a saving grace!
Eating healthy is of course a big part of the retreat experience.
I am always trying to see how to make our food offerings more aligned with my currant knowledge.
It has been an evolution of sorts which would make an interesting blog in its own right
and I don’t have time to go into it now.
But let’s just say that you will not be getting any dairy products at our retreat centre now.
We have plant based milks for those of you who need milk in teas or coffee.
I started making my own yogurt from oats and cashews too.
The challenge is reducing starchy foods such as rice and white potatoes and replacing them with even more fresh salads and veg.
I am currently studying to become a Detox Specialist so I am truly excited to finish the course and put it into practice!
On that note, here is a schedule of our
